“Thanks be unto God for his indescribable gift.” 2 Corinthians 9:15

The definition of indescribable is incapable of being expressed in words.   The original Hebrew word for indescribable is (anekdiēgētos) means unutterable, unspeakable, and inexpressible, beyond all telling, beyond all praise.
The best verse I could find to describe this indescribable gift is:
John 3:16 | “For God so loved the world, that he “gave” his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Gifts… We all love gifts.  For many, if not most of us we enjoy giving gifts even more than receiving them.  To see the look of joy on the faces of those who are on the receiving end of our “heartfelt gifts” is so wonderful!
Webster’s Dictionary defines a “gift” as something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation. God has given us the greatest gift in His Son voluntarily.  There is no money-changing or compensation involved in receiving this inexpressible Gift for ourselves, no standard that we must meet, or obstacles we must jump through.  No, to receive this gift one must only acknowledge that they are a sinner in need of a Savior.  The savior that came to this world as God wrapped in human flesh!
Won’t you choose today to open your hands and your heart to receive the One and Only Gift that has the ability to truly keep on giving now during our time on earth and throughout all of eternity?
We are in a season of gift giving and celebration as Christmas is upon us.  My children have asked me before why we get gifts on Christmas if it is Jesus birthday?  Shouldn’t He be the One that gets all the gifts?  But what can we give to the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, The Great I Am, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End?  What could we give Him to express our gratitude and love?  You probably are thinking “nothing Sherrie” but I hope to show you that there is a gift that you possess and can give to Him that will bring Him great joy!
Read John 17:1-11 below.
After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.  For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.  Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.  And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.  Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.  For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.  I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.  All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.  I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of [your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.”
You see beloved, we are the “gifts” that Jesus longs for!  We are the “gifts” that He died for.  I believe that He is filled with indescribable joy when one of His bends their knee and gives their heart to the One True King!
If you haven’t made that choice you can today.  Below is a prayer that you can pray or you can just speak to Him on your own.

Dear God,

I’m so sorry!  I am so sorry for thinking I had to do something to earn
your love.  I never realized that you love me just as I am and only want
me to receive the “gift” of Your love today through Your Perfect Gift sent from
Heaven’s Throne. Forgive me for not allowing You on the throne of my
heart.  I am a sinner in need of a Savior.  I repent of all of my
sins and ask you to come into my life and do whatever it is that You want to do
in me and through me.  I pray the Holy Spirit be my Guide, my Comforter,
and take this broken vessel and make me whole again.

In Jesus name,
